Kea

 Kea

Scientific name:  Nestor notabilis

Why did I choose this bird?

I chose this bird because it is loud, it tears things and it is quite strong -- just like me.

What is the Kea afraid of?

Technically the Kea has no natural predators/fears in his living environment; however, animals that have been introduced to New Zealand just like cats, stoats, ferrets could become dangerous to the Kea and its offspring.

Is your bird smart?

Keas are very smart birds. They are also playful, for example, they like to steal people’s things such as keys, hats, sunglasses, etc., pick on them and play with them.

Has your bird been a symbol or an icon?

Yes, the kea is the mascot/symbol of the Linwood Rugby League Football Club.

What is a group of keas called?

A group of keas is called a circus.

Summary

My mascot is the kea. Firstly, they like to make loud noises and tear things apart and secondly they are afraid of cats and weasels. Furthermore, the kea is the mascot of a Linwood Football Club. Lastly, a group of keas is called a circus. (45 words)
